> ## Agent Instructions
> Quiver Quantitative API: base URL https://api.quiverquant.com, endpoints under /beta/. Authenticate every request with the header `Authorization: Bearer <API key>`. Keys are on https://api.quiverquant.com/dashboard/ after subscribing at https://api.quiverquant.com/pricing/.
> AI agents can use the Quiver MCP server at https://mcp.quiverquant.com/ (streamable HTTP; OAuth sign-in, or the API key as a Bearer token). Setup: https://api.quiverquant.com/docs/mcp-server.
> Each dataset needs a plan (https://api.quiverquant.com/docs/plans-and-access) and each endpoint has a per-account rate limit (https://api.quiverquant.com/docs/rate-limits).

# Quiver API

> Alternative data on congressional trading, insider trades, 13F holdings, government contracts, lobbying and more, through a REST API or an MCP server for AI assistants.

The Quiver API gives you programmatic access to Quiver Quantitative's alternative data: stock trades by members of Congress, corporate insiders and Donald Trump, hedge fund 13F holdings, government contracts, lobbying, PAC donations, off-exchange (dark pool) volume, patents, layoffs and more. Every dataset is mapped to stock tickers.

There are two ways to use the data:

* **REST API.** Send requests to `https://api.quiverquant.com` with the header `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY` and get JSON back.
* **MCP server.** Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI assistant to `https://mcp.quiverquant.com/` and ask questions about the data in plain language.

Both use the same Quiver account and plan.

## What data is available?

| Category | Datasets |
| - | - |
| Congress and politics | Congressional trading (House and Senate), congress stock holdings, politician net worth, Donald Trump's stock trades, PAC donations (corporate donors), Polymarket trades |
| Government | Government contracts, corporate lobbying, revolving door lobbyists |
| Insiders and institutions | Insider trading (SEC Form 4), hedge fund holdings (SEC 13F) and quarterly changes, top shareholders, executive compensation |
| Markets and companies | Daily equity prices, off-exchange (dark pool) trading, patents, app ratings, layoffs (WARN notices), the Quiver newsfeed |
| Partner data | New Constructs earnings distortion scores (separate subscription) |

See [Plans and data access](/docs/plans-and-access.md) for which plan includes each dataset.

## How requests and responses work

* **Base URL:** `https://api.quiverquant.com`. Endpoint paths start with `/beta/`, for example `/beta/live/congresstrading`.
* **Authentication:** every request needs your API key in the `Authorization` header. See [Authentication](/docs/authentication.md).
* **Responses:** JSON. Most endpoints return an array of records. A few paginated endpoints, such as Bulk Congress Politicians, return `{"data": [...], "pagination": {...}}`. Each endpoint's reference page shows its exact response.
* **Limits:** each endpoint has a per-account rate limit, from 100 requests per minute down to 5 per hour for bulk endpoints. See [Rate limits and pagination](/docs/rate-limits.md).
